Publication Ethic
Journal of Business, Accounting and Information Technology (JBAIT) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against any publication malpractice. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, including the authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
1. For Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to JBAIT are expected to comply with the following ethical principles:
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Proper citation and acknowledgment must be given when using the work or ideas of others.
- Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously or publish redundant publications.
- Data Accuracy and Integrity: Authors must present accurate data and ensure that research results are reported honestly without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate data manipulation.
- Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their findings.
- Ethical Approval: Research involving human participants must comply with ethical standards and obtain appropriate ethical clearance where applicable.
2. For Editors
Editors of JBAIT are responsible for making publication decisions based on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope. Their responsibilities include:
- Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs of the authors.
- Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.
- Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have competing interests.
- Decision Transparency: Editorial decisions must be based on reviewers’ evaluations, relevance, originality, and clarity of the manuscript.
3. For Reviewers
Reviewers play a critical role in ensuring the quality of published articles. Reviewers are expected to:
- Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Reviews should assist editors in making informed decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.
- Promptness: Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed-upon timeframe or notify the editor if they are unable to do so.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, supported by clear arguments, and free from personal criticism.
- Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.
4. For the Publisher
The publisher of JBAIT is committed to ensuring that commercial interests do not compromise editorial decisions. The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining ethical standards and will take corrective actions in cases of suspected misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, or unethical research practices.
5. Handling of Ethical Issues
JBAIT follows COPE guidelines in dealing with allegations of misconduct. If ethical violations are identified, the journal may take actions including:
- Requesting clarification or corrections from authors
- Publishing corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern
- Rejecting manuscripts or retracting published articles when necessary
